About the Golden Leaf Awards
The Golden Leaf Awards is Australia’s premier tea awards event and is sponsored by Australian Tea Masters, who are Australia’s leading tea award event. These awards are judged by professional tea cuppers to distinguish the best-tasting and high quality teas commercially available in the Australian market place.
1. The Judges
The Judges are hand picked from all corners of the globe for their expertise and experience. The Golden Leaf Awards always try to have a dedicated specialist for each category to provide insight during the judging process.
2. Their Innovation
Last year they implemented new scoring technology that is completely automated. Each judge gets a unique code to access the system on their device and once they submit their scores and comments the system automatically calculates it with the other judged feedback. This makes for efficient, error-free data and 100% accuracy.
3. Professionalism
The Golden Leaf Awards take every aspect of this competition seriously and each step of the judging process is meticulously planned and timed. Their team work tirelessly throughout the day to set up each category judging, timing it just so the entries have brewed perfectly as the judges arrive. They use the industry cupping standards to ensure no tea is brewed differently which may affect its flavour.
